Under the minimal supervision of the Regional Medical Director (RMD) or designee, and with extensive latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment, performs highly advanced (senior-level) program management and specialized clinical consultative nursing work directing the regional Tuberculosis (TB) Elimination and Control and Hansen’s Disease Programs. The position serves as the primary regional expert, clinical consultant, and resource for field clinic nursing staff, local health authorities, private medical providers, and community partners regarding complex TB case management, diagnostic screening protocols, and nursing workflows. Work involves planning, developing, executing, and evaluating the regional TB and Hansen’s Disease programs to ensure strict compliance with Texas Communicable Disease Law, OSHA standards, and CDC/IDSA/ATS clinical guidelines. This role focuses entirely on programmatic administration, contract monitoring, clinical data analysis, and consultative and technical oversight. Orchestrates regional consultative planning and clinical direction during large-scale public health emergencies or major TB outbreaks.
