The STBBI Program requires a self-directed and enthusiastic individual to work within a collaborative team environment to deliver services in accordance with the Ontario Public Health Standards – Sexual Health and Sexually Transmitted/Blood-Borne Infections (STBBI) Prevention and Control Protocol, 2019. This role involves investigating reports, completing case and contact management of sexually transmitted and blood borne infections, and working in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary, sexual health clinic setting. The nurse will provide counselling and education on health promotion, disease prevention, public health interventions, and practice under the authority of medical directives such as performing venipuncture, dispensing medication, and providing injections. Collaboration with team members, other health professionals, and agencies is essential, as is working competently and compassionately with vulnerable or marginalized populations. Documentation and data entry in electronic medical records and reporting through iPHIS are also key responsibilities.
