Under general direction, is responsible for administering and/or directing staff of assigned programs that work to prevent human injury and illness by identifying and evaluating environmental sources and hazardous agents, and by limiting exposures to hazardous physical, chemical, and biological agents in air, water, soil, food, and other environmental media or settings that may adversely affect human health. This position also plans, directs, supervises, makes staffing decisions, and exercises control over the field activities within the Assessment and Compliance Section of the Environmental Health Division. Responsible for assembling, analysis, and maintenance of data utilized for program planning, budgeting, and staffing decisions. Performs related duties as required. Additionally, the position assists the Administrator of Environmental Health with development and revision of policies and programs.
