About The Position

Bayshore Medical Personnel is seeking a full-time contract Community Health Nurse for Military Health Services in Edmonton, AB. This role involves providing healthcare services focused on immunization, disease and injury prevention, health surveillance, protection and promotion, infection control, and emergency preparedness and response. The nurse will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary health care team in a clinic setting, conducting individual or group appointments, public health/immunization campaigns, and health education sessions. This is a rewarding opportunity with a unique patient population, offering Monday-Friday day shifts only.

Requirements

  • Three (3) full-time equivalent years of clinical experience within the last five (5) years in nursing practice.
  • Mandatory comprehensive experience with immunization procedures/protocols.
  • Strong IPAC and immunization skills.
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from a recognized university.
  • Registered Nurse license from the provincial or territorial professional college or association in the province of practice.
  • Previous immunization experience in the full vaccination schedule.
  • Certificate of Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as CPR / AED Level C.

Nice To Haves

  • Current N95 mask fit certificate CSA Standards Z94.4 (within the last two (2) years)
  • Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) Certification (within the last two (2) years)

Responsibilities

  • Provide service in areas including immunization, disease and injury prevention, health surveillance, protection and promotion, infection control, and emergency preparedness and response.
  • Work as a member of a multidisciplinary primary health care team in a primary care/clinic setting.
  • Conduct individual or group appointments.
  • Participate in public health/immunization campaigns.
  • Conduct individual or group health education sessions within or outside the health services facility.
