About The Position

This position supports a government contract and is restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents residing in San Diego, El Paso, or surrounding areas. Documentation is required. The Public Health Analyst I provides analytical and programmatic support to CDC Division of Global Migration Health (DGMH), Southern Border Health and Migration Branch (SBHMB) initiatives. This role focuses on performance monitoring, program evaluation, and administrative support to informed decision-making and continuous improvement across public health programs. This position requires exceptional administrative and project management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize, coordinate, monitor multiple initiatives in a fast-paced public health environment. The successful candidate will support all phases of project planning and implementation, track timelines, milestones and deliverables, maintain accurate records and documentation, prepare reports, correspondence, and other program materials and facilitate communication among internal and external stakeholders. This role is critical to ensuring efficient operations, timely project execution, and successful achievement of program goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • An active Public Trust or the ability to obtain a Public Trust is required for consideration.
  • This position is restricted to U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents residing in San Diego, El Paso, or surrounding areas. Documentation is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, or related field (master’s preferred)
  • Experience with program evaluation, reporting, and data analysis
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure data accuracy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support day-to-day program and project management activities for public health initiatives in coordination with state health departments and cross-functional stakeholders
  • Coordinate project plans, timelines, deliverables, and reporting activities to ensure alignment with CDC and state public health priorities
  • Facilitate communication and collaboration between internal teams, state health department partners, and external stakeholders to support program implementation and operational success
  • Develop and maintain status reports to support program oversight and leadership decision-making
  • Support meeting facilitation, stakeholder engagement, and preparation of briefing materials, presentations, and executive summaries for technical and non-technical audiences
  • Provide administrative and operational support for program activities, including coordination of reporting requirements, documentation, and KPI and deliverable tracking
  • Analyze quantitative and qualitative public health data to support program monitoring, operational reporting, and data-informed decision-making
  • Prepare data summaries, reports, and visualizations to communicate program performance, trends, and opportunities for improvement
  • Clean, validate, and manage datasets to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency across reporting activities
