About The Position

Truist Securities' Public Finance Analyst Program is designed for 2026 Truist Interns only. The program begins with an intensive seven-week classroom instruction covering capital markets, products and services, accounting, corporate finance, systems, and financial modeling. Following this training, Analysts join the Public Finance group to support senior investment banking professionals. This role offers exposure to various investment banking and capital markets disciplines, sharpening financial analysis skills, developing an understanding of corporate markets and clients, and gaining experience in corporate finance and investment banking products through on-the-job training. Assignments are within the Public Finance group, with opportunities to collaborate with other departments. The Public Finance Analyst position is typically a two-year role, with a potential for an additional year. The base salary for this position is $100,000.

Requirements

  • Must have been a 2026 Truist Intern.
  • Completed BA/BS degree with a scheduled graduation of December 2026 or May/Jun 2027.
  • Proven analytical ability and attention to detail.
  • Solid leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Superior written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Unrestricted work authorization at the time of hire.
  • English language fluency.

Responsibilities

  • Support senior bankers in the research, origination, and execution of bond and bank market financings for municipal, Corporate Tax-exempt, and non-profit issuers of tax-exempt and taxable debt.
  • Develop research, financial models, relative value analyses, presentation materials, and new issue pricing indications for current and prospective clients.
  • Work closely with bankers and product partners throughout Truist over the entire transaction lifecycle.
  • Play a meaningful role in supporting internal and external clients within the assigned group.
  • Gain exposure to a number of disciplines within investment banking and capital markets.
  • Sharpen financial analysis skills.
  • Develop an understanding of corporate markets and clients.
  • Gain experience in corporate finance and with investment banking products through on-the-job training.
