The Public Education Technician will report to the Staff Coordinator. Public Education Technicians are primarily responsible for assisting with the department’s Community Risk Reduction & Safety Programs including Smoke Detector Battery Changes and Smoke Detector installation, Child Safety Seat installations; CPR, AED, First Aid & Fire Extinguisher instruction; Community AED Program support and District facilities AED checks. The Public Education Technician will perform all Emergency reporting functions for the recording of all public requests for safety assistance and education. They may also assist and provide needed support to other Public Safety personnel as required. Public Education Technicians exhibit a friendly and caring attitude when interacting with residents to ensure positive community relations.
