About The Position

The purpose of this job within the organization is to serve as a Public Art Coordinator for the City of Charleston- Office of Public Art by performing a broad range of professional and technical work in the planning, reviewing and managing the identification, installation and maintenance of public art projects within the City. This job will work under the Director Of Public Art and will implement projects and policies set out by the leadership of the administration and Office of Public Art.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Arts Administration or related field.
  • Requires four years of demonstrated experience
  • Must possess and maintain valid State of West Virginia Driver's License.

Responsibilities

  • Fulfills the department's mission to educate.create.conserve Public Art in Charleston.
  • Strives to be efficient and effective at balancing and meeting the common needs and reasonable expectations of core constituents.
  • Implement projects and procedures for the installation, maintenance, operation and identification of public art in Charleston.
  • Develops and implements inventory plans and maintenance programs for the City of Charleston's Office of Public Art.
  • Manages the public art database and condition studies
  • Identifies fundraising opportunities and grant opportunities.
  • Performs related work as assigned.
