As a Public Area Attendant, you’ll help maintain cleanliness and presentation standards across lobbies, hallways, restrooms, meeting spaces, fitness centers, and other public areas throughout the hotel. Requirements

Previous housekeeping, hospitality, janitorial, cleaning, facilities, hotel, or operational experience preferred.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to cleanliness, organization, and presentation standards.
Ability to work efficiently and independently in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
Strong time management, reliability, and teamwork skills.
Knowledge of cleaning procedures, sanitation standards, chemical handling, and hotel safety practices preferred.
Positive attitude with a strong work ethic and service-focused mindset.
Ability to communicate professionally with guests, team members, and hotel leadership.
Flexible availability including mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and operational support as needed.
A passion for hospitality, teamwork, cleanliness, and creating exceptional guest experiences.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain hotel public spaces including lobbies, hallways, elevators, restrooms, meeting rooms, fitness centers, restaurants, and guest-facing areas.
Ensure public areas remain clean, organized, stocked, and guest-ready throughout shifts.
Vacuum, dust, mop, sanitize, polish, and remove trash according to hotel cleanliness and presentation standards.
Replenish restroom supplies, cleaning products, towels, amenities, and operational items as needed.
Monitor public areas for cleanliness, safety concerns, maintenance issues, and operational readiness throughout the day.
Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests, housekeeping calls, and operational support needs.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping closets, storage areas, carts, and cleaning equipment.
Report maintenance concerns, lost and found items, safety hazards, and operational issues promptly to leadership teams.
Follow sanitation procedures, chemical handling guidelines, hotel safety policies, and operational standards at all times.
Partner closely with Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, Food & Beverage, and Operations teams to support smooth hotel operations and guest satisfaction.
Help create clean, welcoming, and comfortable spaces aligned with Sonesta’s People People philosophy.
Any other duties as assigned.
