About The Position

As Centrus Energy’s Public Affairs Manager, you’ll be the friendly face and trusted voice of our Piketon operations—building bridges with the local press, government leaders, community groups, and our own employees. You’ll craft messages that resonate, manage our community outreach programs, and make sure we’re always seen as the good neighbor who just happens to work with world-class nuclear technology. In short: if it involves people, communication, and connection—you’ll be at the heart of it.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications, or equivalent
  • 5+ years in public relations, including public speaking, spokesperson, and writing/editing experience
  • Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a “Q” level security clearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a highly regulated or rigorous environment
  • Management experience in public relations
  • Strong track record of media relations in a technical or industrial setting

Responsibilities

  • Lead community relations
  • Coordinate corporate giving
  • Serve as media spokesperson in Piketon
  • Cultivate strong relationships with local leaders and press
  • Manage outreach programs
  • Write and distribute news releases
  • Ensure consistent, accurate messaging across Centrus HQ, the Department of Energy, and site contractors
  • Play a critical role in emergency communications, delivering timely and clear information to the public
