About The Position

We are seeking experienced PTI-certified Bridge Inspectors to perform inspection, quality assurance, and documentation activities associated with post-tensioned and prestressed concrete bridge construction, inspection, repair, rehabilitation, and strengthening projects. The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience with post-tensioning systems and will be capable of independently performing inspections of post-tensioning installation, stressing, anchorage systems, ducts, grout operations, and related bridge construction activities. PTI Level 2 certification is required. Level 3 certification or equivalent advanced PTI qualifications are strongly preferred.

Requirements

Current PTI Level 2 Multistrand & Grouted PT Inspector certification.
Minimum 5 years of bridge inspection, post-tensioning, structural inspection, or construction QA/QC experience.
Demonstrated experience inspecting post-tensioned or prestressed concrete structures.
Experience with multistrand and grouted post-tensioning systems.
Ability to read and interpret structural drawings, specifications, inspection plans, and contract documents.
Strong understanding of post-tensioning installation, stressing, grouting, and inspection procedures.
Ability to prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain quality documentation.
Valid driver's license.
Ability to work outdoors and in varying weather conditions.
Ability to work from elevated work platforms, bridges, scaffolding, lifts, and other access systems as required.

Nice To Haves

PTI Level 3 certification or advanced PTI qualification.
Previous experience on state DOT bridge projects.
Experience with prestressed concrete bridge construction.
Experience with bridge rehabilitation and structural repair.
ACI certifications applicable to the project.
NICET, AWS, ICC, or other applicable inspection certifications.
OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
Confined Space certification.
Fall Protection training.
First Aid/CPR certification.
Experience with electronic inspection/reporting systems.
Previous experience working directly for a DOT, engineering consultant, general contractor, or third-party inspection firm.

Responsibilities

Perform field inspections of post-tensioned bridge construction and rehabilitation activities.
Inspect installation of multistrand and grouted post-tensioning systems.
Inspect tendon placement, ducts, anchorages, reinforcing steel, vents, grout tubes, and related components.
Observe and document stressing operations, including stressing sequence and procedures.
Review stressing records, elongation measurements, jack pressure, and related documentation.
Observe and inspect grouting operations for bonded post-tensioning systems.
Verify grout mixing, testing, pumping, venting, and grouting procedures.
Identify nonconforming work and document deficiencies.
Prepare daily inspection reports, photographic documentation, inspection checklists, and quality records.
Review contractor documentation for compliance with project specifications, approved drawings, and applicable standards.
Coordinate with contractors, engineers, owners, testing agencies, and other inspection personnel.
Monitor compliance with applicable project specifications, contract documents, PTI requirements, ACI requirements, and applicable DOT/FHWA requirements.
Assist with bridge condition assessments, rehabilitation projects, and post-tensioning repair activities when required.
Participate in preconstruction meetings, toolbox meetings, and quality-control meetings.
Maintain accurate and timely project documentation.
Communicate field conditions and technical issues to project management and engineering personnel.
Perform other inspection and QA/QC duties as assigned.
