About The Position
Sistema Utah is seeking a part-time, after-school Violin Teacher for its Draper team. This role involves teaching small-group violin classes to students in grades K-6, following the Suzuki Method and other engaging pedagogical approaches. The program aims to foster creativity, discipline, and community, empowering students for social change. The teacher will collaborate with site staff to maintain a positive and structured learning environment, assist with student pickup, and manage daily classroom reset.
Requirements
- High level of experience and expertise in violin performance and instruction.
- Willingness to receive training and to be coached by program directors and administrators.
- Willingness to attend paid training and extensive professional development opportunities.
Nice To Haves
- A college music degree and Suzuki Method teacher training is a major plus.
- Ongoing music studies or equivalent teaching experience is highly valued.
- Spanish-speaking candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Teach group violin lessons to children in grades K–6 using the Suzuki Method and other engaging pedagogical approaches.
- Collaborate with site staff to foster a positive, structured, and creative learning environment.
- Maintain consistency and engagement across daily instrumental classes and ensembles.
- Assist with post-program student pickup (ending at 5:30 PM) and daily classroom reset.
