About The Position

The Administrative Therapy Aide is responsible for providing administrative support at the front desk and coordination and organization of departmental supplies and space. Assisting therapists with patient interventions to facilitate the overall organization and effectiveness of the department. The Administrative Therapy Aide coordinates and performs technical and administrative activities including patient check-in, scheduling, registration, and account management. The Administrative Therapy Aide is also responsible for safe operations of the department including maintaining departmental safety records, providing staff education and information on safety matters and appropriate cleaning and storage of therapy equipment and supplies. May supervise PT/OT volunteers and assist with PT/OT student aide supervision when requested. Provides clear communication with patients, families, co-workers, and all members of the health care team utilizing the principles of service excellence. Requirements

  • HS diploma or equivalent
  • Enrollment or pre-enrollment in PT or OT school preferred for student aide positions and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training
  • Previous experience with pediatrics or in the health care field including public interactions, multitasking activities, professionalism, good judgment and decision making skills.
  • Pediatric experience, good organizational skills with attention to detail, professionalism with mature decision making and judgment skills.

Responsibilities

  • Greets and provides assistance to patients, families, visitors including patient check-in and registration and incoming calls in a patient/parent friendly atmosphere, utilizing behaviors from service excellence.
  • Appointment scheduling for NEW and FOLLOW-UP outpatient appointments.
  • Cleaning and organization for safe clinic environment.
  • Maintains and organizes departmental supplies and equipment.
  • Assists in maintenance of a safe environment, provides education to staff on safety policies, identifies safety concerns and plans remediation, and promotes efficiency of operations.
  • Assisting therapists when requested with direct patient supervision or care.
