Job Summary Seeking energetic and outgoing student applicants to provide excellent guest services for on-campus special events. Successful applicants should enjoy working in a dynamic, customer focused environment for event set-up support across campus. This position will work on-site at Cleveland State University. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • At least 3 years of office experience or related experience
  • Experience working with a range of personalities, cultures and socio-economic statuses
  • Demonstrated experience in customer service
  • Demonstrated experience with a variety of computer applications and software
  • Fiscal integrity
  • Emotional maturity, able to deescalate situations and understands when to elevate issues
  • Ability to speak and write in English
  • Ability to make diverse customers feel welcome and valued
  • Ability to work as part of a professional team that collaborates effectively with colleagues

Nice To Haves

  • Sales experience preferred
  • Basic knowledge of audio and visual equipment; or be willing to learn basic set-up, breakdown and troubleshooting techniques
  • Proficiency with EMS or CRM scheduling software preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform equipment set-up/breakdown duties indoors and out
  • Safely maneuver two and four wheel loading dollies
  • Complete inventory checks, as well as, maintain written or electronic logs
  • Have basic knowledge of audio and visual equipment; or be willing to learn basic set-up, breakdown and troubleshooting techniques
  • Facilitate strong communication with colleagues and event hosts and guests
  • Always be ready and willing to provide excellent customer service and support related to event equipment
  • Always dress according to the specified standards
  • Willing to work a variety of shifts that may include late night and early mornings
  • Able to work with general supervision across all campus buildings using and use good problem solving and analytical skills in a dynamic, unpredictable environment
  • Display reliable work habits
  • Other duties as required
