About The Position

Bryan University is seeking dynamic and energetic adjunct instructors for its Caregiver Training Institute. This institute trains students to become Nursing Assistants (CNAs) and Medication Aides, preparing them for healthcare careers in as little as 3 weeks. The programs cater to students from diverse backgrounds, including future nurses, English learners, and career changers. This position requires the instructor to be an Oregon resident and live near or close to Bend, Eugene, Hood River, Medford, or Salem.

Requirements

  • Must be an Oregon resident and live near or close to Bend, Eugene, Hood River, Medford, or Salem.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with an active Oregon license
  • At least 1 year of nursing experience
  • Experience teaching adults
  • Comfortable using a computer (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoints, LMS)
  • Able to teach and guide adult learners
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk from 4-8 hours

Nice To Haves

  • Train-the-Trainer certificate
  • Experience in long-term care facilities
  • Approval from the Oregon State Board of Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Teach nursing assistant and medication assistant class lectures and labs
  • Demonstrate caregiving skills to students
  • Answer questions and lead discussions
  • Supervise students during clinical training
  • Take attendance and give tests
  • Help students learn how to provide safe patient care
  • Follow school and state nursing regulations
  • Utilize computer/audiovisual equipment
