About The Position

The PT Eat! Program Coordinator will play a key role in supporting all aspects of the food distribution efforts for the eat! Program at Food Access LA. This is a dynamic position that requires adaptability and responsiveness as the program evolves, providing great growth opportunities for an individual passionate about food systems. The role involves assisting with coordination of bulk produce deliveries, managing administrative tasks, communicating with CSA members, packing and distributing orders at farmers markets, and making deliveries using a company van. The ideal candidate is flexible, a fast learner, thrives in a fast-paced and structured environment, enjoys driving, physical activity, and the promotion of local California farmers.

Requirements

  • Bilingual English/Spanish, written and verbal
  • Experience driving a 12-passenger van
  • Demonstrated progressive leadership capabilities
  • Reliable, self-driven, and able to follow clear directives with minimal supervision
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks effectively
  • Proactive problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable working collaboratively in a team setting and independently
  • Ability to operate within tight deadlines and produce exemplary work with high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner consistently and dependably via E-mail and phone
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and SharePoint cloud platform
  • Comfortable using internet applications and digital platforms such as Canva, FloDesk, Excel
  • Ability to use social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety regulations, ServSafe Certification Required (can be attained upon hiring)
  • Experience working with underserved, low-income communities with awareness and integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in coordinating bulk produce deliveries to community locations, working closely with the Program Director to communicate with farmers and community partners.
  • Support invoicing, Excel-based tracking, and other administrative and organizational tasks.
  • Manage CSA member communications, including creating a weekly newsletter, responding to member emails, and coordinating with farmers to curate weekly produce selections.
  • Work on-site at farmers markets up to three times per week to pack orders and distribute them to CSA members, pickup sites, and wholesale partners (including restaurants, schools, and community organizations).
  • Drive the company 12-passenger Mercedes Sprinter van with professional care to make deliveries for the CSA program, wholesale deliveries, and other program related activities.
  • Occasionally attend farm visits, community partner site visits, and related events.
