Stop & Shop Deli Job Description Stop & Shop’s Deli Associate/PT Clerk role is a customer-focused, hands-on position in the deli department, combining food preparation, customer service, and store operations. Role Overview Deli associates at Stop & Shop are responsible for preparing and serving fresh food items, maintaining deli displays, and providing excellent customer service. The role is often part-time and may be scheduled flexibly depending on store needs

Requirements

• Customer Service: Interact with customers to take orders, recommend products, and provide meal options
• Food Preparation: Slice meats, cheeses, and other deli items; prepare sandwiches, salads, hot dishes, and special orders (e.g., party platters, catering trays)
• Order Fulfillment: Weigh, package, and price products; assemble custom orders according to customer specifications
• Display & Stocking: Maintain and restock deli cases, rotate products for freshness, and keep displays organized and appealing
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain deli equipment such as meat slicers, scales, and ovens
• Food Safety: Clean and sanitize workstations, utensils, and equipment to meet hygiene standards.
• Inventory Support: Assist with unloading deliveries and checking stock levels
• Team Support: Help with other store duties as needed during busy periods
