About The Position

This is a patient registration position located in the hospital in various Outpatient areas: Diagnostic Imaging, Outpatient Lab, Outpatient Dept, Heart & Vascular and Rio Vista Urgent Care/Imaging Center location. Hospital Outpatient Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 5a - 8p, Saturday & Sunday 7:30a – 4p. The work schedule will be 8-hour shifts during this timeframe. Schedule flexibility is preferred.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required
• Must possess excellent customer service, communication and organizational skills and the ability to multi-task

Nice To Haves

• Associate's degree preferred or process of obtaining one
• Certified Patient Account Technician CPAT preferred

Responsibilities

• Register patients by obtaining necessary and accurate financial and demographic information.
• Receive, investigate and respond to various inquiries and questions in a pleasant and helpful manner.
• Determine the financial status of the patient and or guarantor and complete all financial/insurance related functions and signatures.
• Communicate with third party payors, obtain insurance benefits and obtain insurance authorizations.
• Collect money due from patient at admission, or in ER setting, prior to discharge.
• Complete all necessary reports.
• Communicate with Case Management, Patient Financial Services and Self/Pay/Medicaid eligibility Team and all other departments when appropriate.
