About The Position

Sun River Health is seeking a full-time Psychotherapist to join our Inwood Health Center. The Psychotherapist will provide specialized knowledge and skills for psychiatric and mental health evaluation, assessment, and management of clients, with strong therapy skills being essential. This role involves collaborating with other medical staff, assessing patient needs, developing care plans, advocating for patients, providing patient education, and maintaining professional competence through continuing education. The position also requires performing related duties as assigned and demonstrating an understanding of the management and care of the adult substance abuse population.

Requirements

Master’s Degree (MSW or MHC)
New York State Licensure (LCSW, LMSW, or LMHC)
2 years of work-related experience

Nice To Haves

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus, but not required.

Responsibilities

Provides psychotherapy for patients.
Provides psychosocial evaluations for patients.
Practices in collaboration with psych NPs, psychiatrist and other medical staff to manage patient care.
Assesses the multidimensional needs of patients and develops and implements care plans.
Functions as a patient advocate, by participating in clinical meetings, patient care conferences and informal discussion with health care and mental health program staff.
Provides patient education relative to psychiatric mental health issues.
Provides written reports and care coordination as needed.
Attends and participates in continuing educational programs, seminars, etc., designated to maintain professional competence.
Performs all related duties, as assigned, or unrelated duties, as requested, during emergencies.
Demonstrates an understanding of the management and care of the adult substance abuse population.
