About The Position

CentraCare's Child & Adolescent Behavioral Health team is seeking a Psychotherapist to provide outpatient diagnostic assessment, psychological testing, and psychotherapy services for children and their families impacted by trauma, depression, anxiety, and developmental disorders. The role focuses on working with early childhood ages and their families, with opportunities for specialization in areas such as eating disorders, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, autism, or health psychology. The psychotherapist will conduct evaluations and implement therapeutic treatments towards defined goals, utilizing motivational interviewing and evidence-based psychotherapy to foster client motivation and commitment to change.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy or related Human Services field required.
  • State of Minnesota licensure required, with one of the following: Licensed Psychologist (LP), Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
  • Minimum of one-year experience required.
  • Successful compliance with Minnesota Law, Chapter 372 relating to sexual exploitation of patients by staff providing psychotherapy services.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest and focus in working with early childhood ages and their families.
  • Ability to practice in areas of specialty, including specialty clinics in eating disorders, fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, autism, or health psychology.
  • PhD or PsyD in Clinical or Counseling Psychology is required (for Psychologist role).
  • Completion of post-doc training year prior to start date preferred (for Psychologist role).
  • Licensure by the State of Minnesota Board of Psychology as Licensed Psychologist (LP) (for Psychologist role).

  • Execute therapeutic treatment toward defined goals.
  • Strengthen motivation and commitment to specific change goals through a collaborative, goal-oriented style of communication.
  • Utilize motivational interviewing and evidence-based psychotherapy.
