About The Position

Responsible for providing integrative psychotherapy through the modality of using expressive arts therapy with individuals, children and families. Provides comprehensive integrative assessment and counseling support for mental, emotional, social and behavioral issues that arise for patients with chronic or life threatening illness. Assists patients in learning effective tools to cope with stress, grief and loss, and to make healthy behavioral changes. Works in partnership with physicians, other health practitioners and administrative staff on care coordination and treatment planning, and is the principle team resource for all mental health matters. The position also collaborates with the other psychotherapists to implement and sustain best practices in the area of integrative psychotherapy and guided imagery, and to stay abreast of research and best practice in the field of behavioral health and integrative medicine.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a Mental Health Discipline
  • LCSW - Licensed Clinical Social Worker OR LMFT - Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist OR PSY - Psychologist of California
  • 2+ years of recent relevant experience
  • Ability to assess patient needs and provide high-quality integrative psychotherapy, guided imagery, and other evidence-based approaches.
  • Knowledge of holistic assessment, care plan development, and outcomes tracking methods.
  • Capacity to work within the integrative medicine model as practiced at the Institute for Health & Healing and in line with recent research findings regarding behavioral health in the ambulatory care setting.
  • Desire and ability to work as an active member of an interdisciplinary practice team led by physicians.
  • Knowledge of the most recent Board of Behavioral Science requirements and adherence to them.

  • Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Social Worker (ACHP-SW) preferred
