About The Position

This role plays an important part in helping individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness build independence, develop life skills, and achieve their recovery goals. It is an excellent opportunity for compassionate, motivated individuals who enjoy working directly with people, facilitating group activities, and supporting clients in community-based settings. The specialist will be part of a collaborative behavioral health team dedicated to improving lives and strengthening communities.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum of two (2) years of stable employment history.
Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to build trust and rapport with diverse populations.
Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
Passion for helping others achieve recovery and independence.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge of local community resources and support services.

Nice To Haves

Experience working with individuals experiencing mental health, substance use, or behavioral health challenges.
Experience facilitating groups, educational sessions, or community-based programs.
Knowledge of recovery-oriented services and psychosocial rehabilitation principles.

Responsibilities

Facilitate psychosocial rehabilitation education and skill-building groups.
Plan and lead therapeutic activities, outings, and community-based programming.
Support clients in achieving treatment plan goals and maintaining program expectations.
Provide advocacy and encouragement to promote recovery and independence.
Monitor program environments to ensure safety, cleanliness, and compliance with agency standards.
Complete timely and accurate documentation in accordance with agency and regulatory requirements.
Assist with client orientation, education, referrals, and resource coordination.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary treatment teams and participate in regular staff meetings.
Serve as a positive role model and support clients in developing healthy coping and life skills.
Safely transport clients and conduct agency business using agency vehicles when required.
Perform other duties as assigned by clinical or program leadership.
