About The Position

The Psychometrist performs formal psychological assessment with patients under the direction of a licensed Psychologist. The Psychometrist must ensure a collaborative relationship with Neuropsychologists and communicate well with providers, patients, families and staff. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Related Field Or Master's Degree
  • Certified Specialist in Psychometry (CSP) within 2 years - Board of Certified Psychometrists (BCP)
  • 1+ years of Psychometrist experience
  • Necessary skills to give batteries of tests to a wide variety of individuals of all ages and abilities.
  • Must continue learning and gaining skills with new testing materials.
  • Must utilize good judgment in situations that will bring out the best performance in individuals.
  • Needs ability to communicate effectively with patients and other healthcare providers.
  • Must be self-motivating, highly enthusiastic, well organized and flexible in hours as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Administers and scores various advanced psychological assessments to patients ranging in age from infant through geriatric.
  • Communicates assessment process to patients and family members.
  • Structures the assessments to adapt to patient needs and still maintain accurate results.
  • Selects appropriate avenues for learning and attends mandatory inservice program. Attains a minimum of 7 hours of continuing education per year.
