About The Position

Under the supervision of licensed psychologists, administer psychological/neuropsychological tests to pediatric and adult patients; accurately score and organize test materials; write detailed behavioral observations; participate in training initiatives; take on administrative responsibilities as assigned by supervisors and the Lead Psychometrist. Candidates must be eligible for independent licensure as a Certified Psychological Assistant [CPA] in the State of Tennessee.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychology, or equivalent, from an accredited college or university
  • Completion of necessary coursework to be license eligible in TN
  • Completion of a supervised practicum in psychological assessment totaling a minimum of 300 clinical hours.

  • Tennessee Certified Psychological Assistant License preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administers and scores psychological and neuropsychological tests to pediatric and adult patients.
  • Gives paper and pencil tests or utilize neuropsychological instruments that access memory learning, and problem solving ability, speed, strength, coordination, hearing, touch and/or vision.
  • Accurately score, organize, and protect test materials.
  • Score measures given as part of assessment batteries.
  • Write detailed behavioral observations for each patient.
  • Participate in training activities; support and assist in training Vanderbilt Health students and trainees.
  • May include allowing approved observations or working more directly with psychology trainees on assessment skills.
