About The Position

The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) is seeking a passionate and dedicated Psychology Supervisor to oversee the Aggression Reduction Program. This role involves providing clinical oversight, developing and implementing evidence-based interventions for violence prevention and positive behavioral change, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. The position offers a hybrid schedule for fully licensed psychologists, combining onsite and remote workdays. NDCS is committed to inmate programming, education, healthcare, re-entry services, and community programs, and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). Requirements

  • Doctorate in Psychology
  • Psychologist license by the Nebraska Department of Health
  • Required clinical internship
  • One year of experience as a licensed psychologist
  • Management experience required
  • Proof of licensure required upon acceptance of a job offer
  • Must submit to a security background check
  • Applicants accepting a job offer must pass the pre-employment medical exam and a drug test
  • Must successfully complete the fully paid Nebraska Department of Correctional Services pre-service training program

Responsibilities

  • Guiding staff on the use of standardized processes to assess and gather data to develop comprehensive profiles and needs for individuals at risk for violence.
  • Designing and implementing individualized and group intervention programs based on best practices for violence reduction.
  • Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to create holistic approaches that address underlying issues contributing to violent behavior.
  • Collecting and analyzing data related to program outcomes, making adjustments as needed to improve efficacy.
  • Performing psychological testing and evaluation.
