About The Position
Provide academic instruction for Behavioral Health Support and Psychology courses. This is a full-time, permanent, 9-month contract, tenure-track position with a day shift, weekdays, located on the Savannah Campus.
Requirements
- A Master’s degree or higher in Counseling, a Master’s degree in Psychology, or a Master’s degree in a related field with 18 hours of graduate credit in Counseling and/or Psychology.
- Proficient in MS Office 10.
- Ability to build relationships and maintain a high degree of confidentiality.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Proven organizational, analytical and time management skills displaying initiative when completing tasks.
- Must have the ability to work with students and colleagues from diverse backgrounds.
Nice To Haves
- Teaching experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Advance student learning through exemplary instruction in accordance with established course learning objectives.
- Teach a minimum of 15 credit hours per semester at a variety of times and locations in response to institutional needs.
- Demonstrate commitment to student success through the assessment of student learning.
- Continuously improve instructional quality by reviewing and utilizing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods to ensure desirable student learning outcomes.
- Provide access to students by posting office hours, electronic communication and other appropriate methods.
- Establish annual objectives to include personal and professional growth plans.
- Provide academic advising for Behavioral Health Support students.
- Effectively collaborate with adjunct and dual credit instructors, as needed, while also identifying and recommending employment of adjunct faculty.
- Develop and maintain alliances with appropriate constituencies and institutions to support recruiting and job placement of students, and to stay connected with the behavioral health community.
- Coordinate Behavioral Health Support course offerings in collaboration with college officials.
- Participate in division and college committees.
- Maintain current knowledge in subject-matter as well as effective teaching and learning strategies.
- Maintain appropriate standards of professional conduct and ethics.
