Under general supervision of the Director of Services for Persons with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, this role evaluates persons served using the DSM-5-TR and serves as the agency/program psychology consultant with specialized skills in applying behavioral, sociological, and psychological concepts in planning mental health services. The position provides guidance in resource development and recommendations for community organization of professional and natural supports for individuals implementing the recovery model. It performs psychological assessments and clinical evaluations related to behavioral plans, voluntary/involuntary hospital admissions consultations, and NGRI status evaluations to determine the adequacy of existing treatment and community management plans. This position requires knowledge of and active support for culturally competent recovery-based practices, person-centered planning as a shared decision-making process, and a trauma-informed culture of safety to aid individuals in their recovery process.
