About The Position

Lifemark is seeking a Psychologist for a new partnership with Partners in Canadian Veterans Rehabilitation Services (PCVRS). This role involves providing rehabilitation services, including medical, psycho-social, and vocational rehabilitation, with multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary teams. The position also offers opportunities to apply psychological expertise to step-care mental health programs across the mental health continuum. The role can be fully virtual or hybrid, with an option for presence at Lifemark Physiotherapy Saint John. Both salaried and fee-for-service options are available for part-time and full-time positions. Bilingual French is a significant asset.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university.
  • Current registration in good standing with the provincial College/Board of Psychologists (competency with adult populations).
  • Individual professional liability insurance required at time of employment.
  • Conducting psychological assessments with adults for various goals, including treatment planning.
  • Providing various evidence-based treatments grounded in cognitive-behavioral approaches.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work both autonomously and as part of interdisciplinary teams.
  • Efficient with required clinical documentation.
  • Able to manage a diverse caseload within a dynamic work setting.

Nice To Haves

  • Clinical experience with counselling psychology, health/rehabilitation psychology, or neuropsychology.
  • Developing and evaluating mental health programs.
  • Working in interdisciplinary teams and with third-party payers.
  • Utilizing telehealth/virtual care methods.
  • Bilingual French.

Responsibilities

  • Engaging in psychological (diagnostic) assessments to identify diagnoses, level of distress, and functional impairment, and recommend treatment.
  • Providing psychological treatment for complex psychological conditions (anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, concurrent disorders) and psychosocial needs.
  • Working autonomously, providing 1-1 psychological services, and working within interdisciplinary Mental Health teams.
  • Providing supervision as appropriate to other psychologists and psychotherapists.
  • Providing consultation to other team members and management on clinical cases or practice dilemmas.
  • Developing new mental health program content for the unique needs of various client groups.
  • Leveraging novel approaches to the delivery of mental health services, including adjunct digital therapeutics.
  • Bringing unique assessment competencies to a range of applications, from pre-employment suitability assessments for high-risk occupations to diagnostic assessments to guide treatment and psychosocial resource building.
  • Consulting with other mental health service team members and clinical interdisciplinary teams.
  • Contributing to in-house training sessions and interdisciplinary case discussions.
