About The Position
Lifemark Health Group is seeking passionate psychologists to join their provincial teams and contribute to their national mental health strategy. The role involves implementing a bold vision to optimize mental health services for diverse audiences, from prevention to intervention. You will leverage your psychological competencies to apply evidence-based practices to step-care mental health programs across the mental health continuum. The position offers the opportunity to provide whole-person care using a client-centered biopsychosocial approach, collaborating with multidisciplinary rehabilitation teams and interdisciplinary mental health teams. The work directly impacts Canadian Veterans, employees focused on workplace health, and individuals seeking support for their mental health concerns. Clients are also served through third-party funders such as Veterans Affairs Canada, the Workers Compensation Board, MVA, and LTD/STD.
Requirements
- Master’s Degree or Ph.D. in Psychology from an accredited university.
- Current registration in good standing with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (competency with adult populations; clinical (asset: counselling psychology, health / rehabilitation psychology, neuropsychology)).
- Individual professional liability insurance required at time of employment.
- Trauma training required.
- 2 yrs. of clinical experience working with adult populations, complex cases and return-to-work is preferred.
- Conducting psychological assessments with adults for various goals, including treatment planning (MMPI-3, PAI and more).
Nice To Haves
- Training/certifications with Cognitive Processing Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, EMDR and other evidence-based treatments highly desired.
- Proficiency in French is a strong asset.
Responsibilities
- Bringing unique assessment competencies to a range of applications, from pre-employment suitability assessments for high-risk occupations to diagnostic assessments to guide treatment and psychosocial resource building.
- Delivering individual and group treatment for conditions including anxiety, trauma, depression, somatic complaints, substance misuse, adjustment and interpersonal issues within the person’s psychosocial context.
- Consulting with other mental health service team members and clinical interdisciplinary teams.
- Leveraging novel approaches to the delivery of mental health services, including adjunct digital therapeutics.
- Contributing to in-house training sessions and interdisciplinary case discussions.
- Contributing to program outcome evaluations at the provincial and national level.
