About The Position

This full-time position at Advocate Health Outpatient Therapy, specifically within the GCMG Psych: Park Road - Behavioral Health department, focuses on providing comprehensive psychological services. The role involves conducting assessments, formulating diagnoses, developing treatment plans, and providing clinical supervision. The psychologist will also perform forensic evaluations, administer and interpret psychological instruments, and manage clients in crisis. The position requires working in a patient care area with potentially combative patients and involves physical activities such as walking, standing, lifting, and reaching.

Requirements

  • Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from an APA approved training program required.
  • License eligible or currently licensed as a Licensed Practicing Psychologist from the N.C. State Board of Examiners of Practicing Psychologists required.
  • BLS required per policy guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct assessments based on clinical interview, presenting information, and clinical standards of the program.
  • Formulate appropriate diagnoses using standards established in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
  • Write appropriate treatment plans according to patient diagnosis, age, and clinical presentation.
  • Collaborate with appropriate guardians to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Provide clinical supervision of Psychologist I, predoctoral interns, and/or graduate practicum students in the practice of psychology.
  • Conduct forensic evaluations and provide court testimony as an expert witness when directed.
  • Select, administer, and interpret psychological instruments, including writing a written report on psychological evaluation.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of various treatment modalities and theoretical applications based on current clinical standards.
  • Write appropriate discharge plans based on individual needs of the client and follow through with the termination process.
  • Manage clients in crisis utilizing appropriate skills and assessment.
