The role also involves psychotherapy with adults experiencing various neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, brain tumors, or functional neurologic disorders. Strong clinical experience in evidence-based psychotherapy is essential. The position requires collaboration with a multidisciplinary HABIT team and the broader Neuropsychology division.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in social work and licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker required.
  • Strong clinical experience and proficiency in evidence-based psychotherapy approaches and interventions are required.
  • Strong communication skills are needed to interact with patients, family members, and caregivers.
  • Strong collaboration skills and teamwork are needed as an important member of this multidisciplinary team.

  • Experience working with patients with neurodegenerative diseases and other neurologic disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provides specific psychological services, including evaluation and assessment, individual and group psychotherapy, cognitive rehabilitation, health and behavior intervention, and other psychological services to a variety of neurological populations.
  • Focuses on the evidenced based HABIT Healthy Action to Benefit Independence and Thinking Program ® for patients living with Mild Cognitive Impairment and a loved-one partner.
  • Provides psychotherapy with adults with a range of neurological conditions such as epilepsy, multiple sclerosis, brain tumor, or functional neurologic disorder.
  • Collaborates with the multidisciplinary HABIT team which includes a Neuropsychologist Director, HABIT coordinator, other Master’s level providers, and yoga therapist as well as the broader Neuropsychology division in the Department of Psychiatry and Psychology.
