About The Position

Legacy’s mission of making life better for others extends to the whole person—including the psychological well-being of individuals facing cancer. Our psychologists specialize in supporting adult patients navigating the complex emotional, behavioral, and cognitive challenges associated with cancer diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, and advanced illness. For many patients, psychological care is essential to coping with distress, uncertainty, and life transitions brought on by cancer. For others, mental health concerns may impact treatment adherence, recovery, or quality of life. In every case, care must be delivered with clinical expertise, compassion, and respect. This role is for individuals passionate about improving the psychological health of adults affected by cancer and contributing to whole-person, integrated care.

  • Strong competency in addressing psychological responses to cancer, including adjustment, grief, and health-related anxiety.
  • Experience treating cognitive and psychological concerns related to or exacerbated by medical conditions (e.g., treatment-related cognitive changes, chronic illness adjustment).
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary medical team and communicate clearly with both patients and providers.
  • Commitment to culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and patient-centered care
  • Current licensure as a psychologist by the applicable State Board of Psychologist Examiners.
