Geisinger and Acadia Healthcare have formed a joint venture partnership to build and operate two behavioral health facilities, one in each of its Central and Northeast Pennsylvania regions. These facilities serve as acute care hubs of an enterprise system of behavioral health care. The Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Northeast opened in August 2023, and the Geisinger Behavioral Health Center Danville will open in August 2025. Acadia serves as the joint venture facility administrator. The centers are contemporary, freestanding health care facilities designed and constructed using advanced approaches to quality and safety. They serve both adult and pediatric populations and offer Partial Hospitalization Programs, Intensive Outpatient Programs, and Brain Stimulation Therapy. Individuals benefiting from these services will have common psychiatric diagnoses including but not limited to: Major Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Trauma-Related Disorders, Schizophrenia and Schizoaffective Disorder, and Substance-Use Disorders. Both facilities are licensed initially for 96 inpatient beds with the capacity to add an additional 48 beds in the future and are approximately 72,00 square feet. EPIC electronic medical record documentation is utilized. Work is typically performed in a clinical and office environment.
