About The Position

Granite Hills Behavioral Health is seeking a FT Psychiatrist for the Adult Population. This role oversees the quality of care delivered to patients, assesses clinical appropriateness for admission, and collaborates with Assessment and Referral regarding potential admissions. The Psychiatrist will perform psychiatric assessments, complete necessary documentation for patients hospitalized under civil commitment statutes, and provide individual therapy, family therapy, and/or medication management as needed. The role also involves requesting consultations when indicated, maintaining patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance, and completing all documentation legibly and within established timeframes. Participation in multidisciplinary treatment teams and scheduled staffing is expected, along with demonstrating appropriate medication administration and ensuring compliance with facility and regulatory standards. The Psychiatrist will also participate in ongoing PI activities and hospital committees as assigned, complete documentation for accurate reimbursement, and comply with all medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, and facility policies and procedures, while maintaining professional behaviors at all times.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited medical school
  • Completed residency in psychiatry
  • Licensed as a medical Doctor (M.D.) in the state of Wisconsin

Responsibilities

  • Oversees the quality of care delivered to his/her patients.

  • Performs psychiatric assessments for individuals under his/her care.
  • Completes documentation necessary to address patients hospitalized under civil commitment statues.
  • Provides individual therapy, family therapy and or medication management as needed for patients under his/her care.
  • Appropriately requests consultation when indicated.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and complies with all HIPAA standards.
  • Completes all documentation requirements legibly and within timeframes established by Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations.
  • Participates in multidisciplinary treatment team and collaboratively in scheduled staffing regarding the treatment of his/her patients.
  • Demonstrates appropriate medication administration and ensures that documentation regarding medications complies with facility and regulatory standards.
  • Participates in ongoing PI activities and hospital committees as assigned.
  • Completes necessary documentation to ensure accurate reimbursement for services provided.
  • Complies with all medical staff bylaws and medical staff rules and regulations.
  • Complies with all facility policies and procedures.
  • Maintains professional behaviors at all times.
