About The Position

Merakey is seeking a part-time Psychiatrist to support their Extended Acute Care (EAC) Program in Nazareth, PA. This is a flexible part-time position with 6 onsite hours per week. The EAC Program aims to provide a safe, therapeutic, and holistic residential environment for individuals to receive intensive short-term treatment and support to stabilize acute mental health symptoms, pursue recovery goals, and enhance skills for maintaining wellness in the community.

Requirements

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Adult Psychiatry.
• Current license to practice in Pennsylvania.

• Experience treating adults with serious mental illness in residential, inpatient, or community behavioral health settings.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the clinical leader of psychiatric treatment, directing and coordinating care as an integral member of the interdisciplinary treatment team.
• Actively participate in the recovery planning process, collaborating with nursing and other team members to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Provide psychiatric oversight and medication management for individuals receiving residential services.
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and monitor medications.
• Provide ongoing psychiatric treatment in accordance with regulatory requirements (including weekly 30min appointments).
• Respond to psychiatric crises as needed, including on-call coverage.
• Lead psychiatric treatment planning and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure coordinated, person-centered care.
• Consult with nursing staff regarding medication concerns, clinical changes, and treatment recommendations.
• Attend weekly interdisciplinary treatment team meetings held every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., contributing psychiatric expertise to case reviews, treatment planning, and care coordination.
