About The Position

St. Vincent's Hospital Westchester, a division of Saint Joseph's Medical Center, has a part-time position for a BC/BE psychiatrist in the Evaluation and Referral Service. In this role, the psychiatrist will perform comprehensive psychiatric evaluations on walk-in and psychiatric emergency clients and transfers from other psychiatric emergency rooms in the area. The psychiatrist will also collaborate with and follow up on cases started by Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and social workers in the evaluation service. The physician should be comfortable assessing safety, determining the assignment of inpatient vs. outpatient psychiatric and/or substance abuse services, and writing initial orders, including medications as appropriate. A faculty appointment at New York Medical College is possible for those interested in teaching in the newly accredited psychiatry residency training program. Requirements

• BC/BE psychiatrist
• Comfortable assessing safety.
• Comfortable with the assignment of inpatient vs. outpatient psychiatric and/or substance abuse services.
• Ability to write initial orders including medications as appropriate.
• Submit CV to Carlos Sotolongo, MD, Chief of Outpatient Services.

Nice To Haves

• Board certification is preferred.
• Interest in teaching in the psychiatry residency training program.
