About The Position

Richmond Hospital Department of Psychiatry is currently seeking a psychiatrist to join in a Permanent position to fill 2 part time positions in hospital. Position to start immediately. The Richmond Adult Mental Health Team is a community-based program that provides longer-term management of serious and persistent mental health conditions requiring an interdisciplinary treatment team. The Richmond Hospital Psychiatric Assessment Unit (PAU)/ED In-Patient Service provides psychiatric assessment and treatment to patients admitted in medical and surgical wards, does consultants in the Emergency Department, and liaises with the primary care team. The Richmond Mental Health Out-Patient Services provides consultation and short-term management of general mental health conditions of moderate severity, and the successful candidate would participate in the development of individual and group psychotherapy, running of groups, and providing supervision for psychiatry residents. Richmond Hospital is a fully accredited, 228 acute care bed facility serving a local population of 200,000 with an additional catchment area of almost 120,000. Richmond Hospital is undergoing plans for a campus-wide expansion and renewal, with a new acute care tower planned for completion by 2028.

Requirements

  • Current College of Physicians of BC (CPSBC) - Provisional
  • Canadian College of Family Practitioners (CCFP) - Eligible
  • Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) - Mandatory

Responsibilities
