About The Position
Staff psychiatrists serve as team leaders for multi-disciplinary teams to ensure quality patient care and treatment. In addition to the evaluation of patients upon admission, this position is responsible for providing inpatient psychiatric care which includes consultations, preparing written psychiatric assessments including treatment plans as well as administrative recommendations, chronic medication management, psychotropic drug reviews, provides consultation with medical staff as needed, and providing appropriate coordination and continuation of the care for residents in adherence to state and federal guidelines. This opportunity offers a full-time work schedule, Monday – Friday (8 am until 5 pm) with a light call schedule.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina.

- Considerable knowledge of inpatient psychiatry.
- Knowledge of the theories and general practices of medicine; thorough knowledge of biological, social, and psychological developmental processes at all ages; a sound identity with and training in medicine and psychiatry; and demonstrated clinical abilities.
- Ability to work on an interdisciplinary team and integrate care is essential
