About The Position

This position involves administrative and supervisory responsibilities in managing a moderate to large, diverse mental health or hospital laboratory. The Lab Supervisor oversees a team of medical laboratory personnel, coordinating activities across various technological areas or focusing on specialized procedures within one area. Duties include understanding and working within Epic Beaker module of the EHR, managing courier services for regional facilities, analyzing satisfaction surveys, maintaining inventory and charge master, and planning laboratory activities. The supervisor conducts cost and feasibility studies for new services, develops operating procedures, and ensures alignment with the organization's mission. Additionally, the supervisor reviews proficiency testing, quality control records, and ensure compliance with program and accreditation standards, with the potential for other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in medical technology, chemistry, or a biological science from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience in a laboratory in the assigned area, one of which is in a supervisory capacity OR an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must be capable of meeting the Federal CLIA’88 personnel requirements for a general supervisor in a laboratory performing high complexity testing.
