About The Position

To meet an ever-expanding need for mental health and substance use disorder treatment services in the region, STR Behavioral Health is excited to announce a new PHP/IOP location opening soon in Chester County, PA. The approach at our treatment centers is firmly rooted in individualized, person-centered care to help clients uncover the why behind their disorders and help them build foundational relationships that help answer the how in moving forward.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of residency in psychiatry
  • Active valid licensed practitioner in the state of Pennsylvania
  • Willingness to work with a clinical to make recommendations and implement strategies that will benefit clients
  • Willingness to take calls during after hour day and times
  • Complete other tasks and duties appropriate to the position and/or as assigned
  • Valid driver’s license, vehicle insurance and acceptable driving record
  • Clearance of TB test, and any other mandatory state/federal requirements
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two hours a week, depending on current census

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the health and safety of all clients
  • Assessing and prescribing appropriate medication regimes
  • Assessing medical and psychiatric issues and concerns then address or make appropriate referrals
  • Approving potential admissions based on medical and psychiatric requirements
  • Consulting with the treatment team on primary diagnosis and co-occurring issues
  • Maintaining a safe and secure environment
  • Help Clients by providing information, services, and assistance
  • Routine checkups and psychiatric evaluations of clients
  • Conducting follow up and evaluation of client physical and psychiatric conditions
  • Prescribe medications as necessary
  • Document clinical, medical, and psychiatric treatments and recommendations
  • Oversee and collaborate with Clinicians on client’s treatment plans
  • Participate in Clinical Treatment team meetings 2x a month
  • Pre-screen clients by reviewing psych and medical records for admission
  • Functions within the guidelines of the facility’s Code of Ethics and in accordance with corporate compliance
  • Represents the program within the community at local, regional, and national events, as requested
  • Assists in promoting and ensuring the organization’s values, mission, goals, and objectives are understood and actively supported by the employees
  • Performs other duties as assigned
