About The Position

MDPerm is seeking a Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist to provide comprehensive onsite psychiatric services at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center. This position supports Veterans in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment, delivering care consistent with state-of-the-art civilian medical standards.

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted MD or DO license in any U.S. state
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Current BLS and ACLS certification
• Ability to pass federal credentialing, privileging, and background screening
• Strong clinical competency in both inpatient and outpatient psychiatry

Nice To Haves

• Experience in VA, federal, or military healthcare settings
• Experience treating complex behavioral health populations

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care
• Conduct psychiatric evaluations, diagnosis, and treatment planning
• Manage admissions, ongoing treatment, and discharge/transfer of patients
• Provide follow-up care and consult services, including e-consults
• Treat patients with severe and complex mental health conditions
• Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
• Collaborate with VA mental health staff and interdisciplinary teams
• Support specialty programs, including PTSD clinic, residential programs, and case management services
• Maintain a consistent presence during scheduled clinic hours
• Participate in peer reviews, case reviews, and quality assurance activities
• Attend required staff meetings
• Ensure compliance with VA policies and performance standards
