About The Position

FlexStaff has an excellent part-time opportunity for a passionate Psychiatrist looking to make a meaningful impact while enjoying a flexible schedule. This role allows you to do what you love—diagnosing and treating mental health conditions—without the full-time commitment. Join our client’s dynamic, interdisciplinary team dedicated to providing top-quality behavioral health care to the IDD patient population. In this role, you’ll perform outpatient psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Board Certification and NY State licensure
• 24 CME credits every 2 years
• Healthcare Provider CPR/AED certification
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party billing
• Familiarity with EHR systems (ECW experience a plus)
• Strong organizational and communication skills

Nice To Haves

• Experience with IDD/ASD populations is a plus
• New graduates are welcome, contingent upon completion of your residency program.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric assessments and diagnoses
• Prescribe and manage medication treatments
• Collaborate with families and caregivers when appropriate
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests
• Maintain accurate and timely medical records
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings
• Follow all safety protocols, including infection control and PPE guidelines
