About The Position

Temple Health – Chestnut Hill Hospital is seeking a BC/BE Psychiatrist to join our Senior Behavioral Health Unit, a 20-bed inpatient program dedicated to the compassionate, high-quality care of older adults with acute psychiatric needs. This is a faculty role within the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University, offering the opportunity to combine meaningful inpatient clinical work with academic engagement, while practicing in a supportive community hospital environment. The SBHU provides short-term inpatient stabilization for older adults experiencing conditions such as depression, psychosis, bipolar disorder, and anxiety. Our interdisciplinary team emphasizes patient- and family-centered care, education, and thoughtful discharge planning to support long-term recovery and continuity of care. Requirements

MD, DO, or foreign equivalent
Board eligible or board certified in Psychiatry (ABPN)
Eligibility for unrestricted Pennsylvania medical license and DEA prior to start

Statement describing working effectively in an urban environment is strongly encouraged

Fellowship training in Geriatric Psychiatry appreciated but not required

Responsibilities

Care for patients on a 20-bed inpatient unit
Manage approximately 3–5 inpatient consults daily (shared among team)
Work alongside an experienced multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, psychiatric NPs, social workers, nurses, therapists, and behavioral health technicians
Teaching, mentorship, and academic collaboration
