About The Position
The primary purpose of this position is to provide comprehensive psychiatric care to forensic inpatients and conduct court-ordered forensic psychiatric evaluations. Responsibilities include patient assessment and treatment, interdisciplinary treatment planning, forensic evaluations and report writing, consultation, expert testimony, and participation in teaching and quality improvement activities.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice medicine in the State of North Carolina.
Nice To Haves
- Experience providing comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and treatment in an inpatient psychiatric setting.
- Experience functioning as the leader of an interdisciplinary treatment team and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
- Experience coordinating and supervising discharge planning and continuity of care.
- Experience conducting forensic psychiatric evaluations, including competency to proceed, criminal responsibility, violence risk, and other mental health assessments.
- Experience providing expert testimony regarding forensic psychiatric findings in legal proceedings.
