French Consulting is seeking a Psychiatrist to deliver comprehensive psychiatric services at the Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr. VA Medical Center in Memphis, Tennessee. This is an opportunity to work in a structured, collaborative, mission-driven environment—serving veterans across inpatient, outpatient, and specialty mental health settings. What You’ll Do Inpatient Care Collaborate with VA Mental Health staff on inpatient care duties, including: Operating and collaborating on physician patient caseloads Seeing 1C/1D Psychiatry Service ward patients Admitting and diagnosing patients Developing individualized treatment plans Managing and performing timely treatment Coordinating discharge and transfer Completing all required medical record documentation Outpatient Care See all new patient referrals with accompanying medical records Provide care for severely mentally ill patients Perform evaluation, disposition, and E-consult services Conduct post-discharge follow-up; patients must be seen within 30 days of discharge Clinic and Residential Care Operate the clinic, examine patients, and interpret reports as required by the VA Work collaboratively with VA staff across various clinic settings Peer Review Provide professional psychiatric expertise for peer review of selected cases Review includes tort claims, patient and family complaints, Mental Health case reviews, and benefit appeals Who You Are A skilled, compassionate psychiatrist dedicated to providing high-quality care to veterans Committed to meeting or exceeding nationally recognized standards of psychiatric care A collaborative professional who works effectively with VA Mental Health staff, residents, and multidisciplinary teams Detail-oriented and proactive in clinical documentation, compliance, and reporting

Requirements

  • Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia
  • No history of restricted, suspended, revoked, voluntarily surrendered, or denied licensure in any jurisdiction
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), or equivalent
  • Demonstrated proficiency in inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care, including the full scope of services listed above
