About The Position

Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital is seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join their dynamic inpatient medical team. This 120-bed acute care psychiatric hospital, located in Tacoma, Washington, provides care to both voluntary and involuntary patients. Wellfound emphasizes whole-person centered care that supports wellness and recovery, respecting and including everyone's unique values, strengths, and beliefs. The treatment approach is team-based, involving providers, nurses, mental health technicians, and therapy team members.

Requirements

• MD/DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Successful completion of a residency program in Psychiatry, approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or American Osteopathic Association.
• Current Washington state medical license.
• Current valid DEA license.
• BE/BC in Psychiatry: current certification or active participation in the examination process leading to certification in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or the American Osteopathic Board of Neurology and Psychiatry.
• Current Basic Life Support card through American Heart Association or American Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Providing high quality, efficient, and effective specialized psychiatric care that is evidence-based and trauma-informed, in accordance with Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital standards and guidelines, applicable statutory requirements, and accepted clinical practices for the medical profession of psychiatry.
• Admitting, attending, discharging, and consulting on patients following established protocols determined by Wellfound Behavioral Health Hospital medical governance and bylaws.
• Providing direct patient care that respects the patient’s unique values and needs by examining, diagnosing, and analyzing the patient’s total health condition.
• Developing short- and long-term treatment goals and plans in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team, the patient, and/or their care designee(s).
