About The Position
Heartline Staffing, in partnership with Purple Cow Recruiting, is hiring a Psychiatrist Medical Director for The Family Counseling Center in Gloversville, New York. This role provides medical leadership for outpatient psychiatric services within a mission-driven behavioral health organization. The position involves a balance of direct psychiatric care, executive oversight, clinical supervision, and program leadership. The Medical Director will supervise Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners, support consistent, high-quality psychiatric practice standards, and oversee psychiatric and substance use services while championing trauma-informed, client-centered care. Collaboration with multidisciplinary clinical teams is key to improving quality, access, and continuity of care. The role also includes participation in policy development, program development, quality initiatives, and clinical leadership decisions.
Requirements
- Board Certified Psychiatrist.
- Active New York Medical License.
- Active DEA registration.
- Experience supervising multidisciplinary clinical teams.
- Comfort overseeing psychiatric and substance use services.
- Commitment to trauma-informed, client-centered outpatient behavioral health care.
- Strong leadership, communication, and clinical decision-making skills.
