About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Psychiatrist - Inpatient to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center, respected for its leadership in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. This role involves responsibility for the overall clinical care and educational activities on a 24-bed acute Adult Inpatient Unit, including leadership of a multidisciplinary treatment team. The position requires representation of the Department in all activities related to clinical care and documentation, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, Resident and Medical Student education, and professional performance surveillance. The Psychiatrist will also conduct staff meetings, clinical conferences, collect data, complete investigations and reports, and integrate the unit’s activities with hospital and department programs. Participation in innovative integrative care activities and communication with patient support systems are also key responsibilities. Direct supervision of Psychologists, Social Workers, Psychiatric PA staff, and Medical Students is expected.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible or Board Certified in Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State Medical License.

Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for overall clinical care and educational activities on a 24-bed acute Adult Inpatient Unit, including leadership of a multidisciplinary treatment team.
  • Represent the Department in all activities related to clinical care and documentation of care, performance improvement, regulatory compliance, Resident and Medical Student education, and continuing surveillance of the professional performance of clinical team.
  • Conduct staff meetings, and clinical conferences; collect pertinent data and complete investigations and reports; and integrate and coordinate the unit’s activities with hospital and department programs (patient care, research, and community health programs).
  • Participate in our innovative integrative care activities.
  • Communicate with patient support system including family, friends, health care proxy, case workers, residence staff.
  • Direct supervision of Psychologists, Social Workers, Psychiatric PA staff, and Medical Students.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $267,900 (board eligible); $278,200 (board certified) based on 40-hour work week.
  • Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
