About The Position

Physician Affiliate Group of New York (PAGNY) is seeking a Psychiatrist - Collaborative Care to join the group at NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi. Jacobi Medical Center is a 457-bed, Level I Trauma Center, respected for its leadership in emergency medicine, trauma surgery, burn care, pediatrics, primary care, and women’s health. The hospital maintains a strong academic affiliation with Albert Einstein College of Medicine. The mission of NYC Health + Hospitals is to provide comprehensive health services of the highest quality to all New Yorkers with compassion, dignity, and respect, regardless of immigration status or ability to pay. The Department of Psychiatry offers a range of services including adult acute inpatient beds, a CPEP, a Consultation Liaison Service, an Adult Ambulatory Practice, and a Community-Based Assertive Community Treatment program. The department utilizes evidenced-based best practices in a patient-centered approach. This role involves providing care for a diverse group of Internal Medicine patients in a Level III Patient Centered Medical Home, working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team. Responsibilities include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, treatment plan development, crisis intervention, and collaboration with physicians, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, and nurses. Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry.
  • Active New York State Medical License.

Responsibilities

  • Provide care for a diverse and challenging group of Internal Medicine patients in a Level III Patient Centered Medical Home.
  • Work alongside a group of internal medicine physicians, nurses, nurse practitioners, social workers, and case managers providing consultative as well as direct patient care.
  • Assess and screen patients by conducting psychiatric evaluations, interviews, medical histories, observations, and psychological testing to diagnose patients.
  • Prescribe and administer psychiatric medications.
  • Monitor patients to determine efficacy and potential side effects of medications.
  • Develop a treatment plan and measure progress.
  • Provide crisis intervention.
  • Collaborate with a broader team of physicians, psychologists, social workers, nutritionists, and nurses to assess and adjust treatment plans.

Benefits

  • Annual Base Salary: $267,900 (board eligible); $278,200 (board certified) based on 40-hour work week.
  • Additional compensation available for extra call or sessional/per diem hours.
  • Estimated annual compensation for 10 additional sessional/per diem hours worked per week is $104,000.
  • Projected bonus of up to $40,000 (based on previous year’s average), contingent upon meeting quality and productivity targets.
