About The Position

As our Psychiatrist, you’ll be the guiding light for clients facing mental and emotional challenges. You’ll conduct routine and emergency assessments, provide diagnostic clarification, and develop treatment recommendations while coordinating care before and after discharge. Requirements

• Doctorate in Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) required.
• Board Certification in General/Adult Psychiatry required.
• Experience in adolescent/young adult psychiatry required.
• Licensed in the State for which you are applying required.
• Active DEA licensure.
• Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in assigned unit.
• Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in Newport Healthcare’s policies and procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Board Certified in Child & Adolescent Psychiatry strongly preferred.
• Experience in a PHP/IOP and/or Residential settings strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the psychiatric care of clients.
• Attend weekly Treatment Team Meetings and work closely with our amazing Director of Operations, Clinical Director, and other treatment team members.
• Document patient encounters through weekly progress notes in our EMR system, as well as safety assessments and phone calls with parents.
• Assist with utilization reviews for clients and provide cross-coverage to the Psychiatry team when needed.
• Maintain excellent communication with other clinical team members, outpatient providers, and family members.
• Complete discharge recommendation assessments as part of collaborative discharge summaries within 24 hours.
• Work in a dynamic team setting, maintaining the requirements of Physician Collaborative Agreements, if applicable.

• Compensation for this role ranges from $200/hr. - $220/hr., based on education & years of experience.
